PATRICK ASTWOOD
Patrick Astwood is a surface designer, illustrator and exhibited artist with considerable experience in creating striking visuals. Emerging as painter in the 90s, he experimented with several artistic styles, developing a strong visual identity, most notably in his use of colour and bold composition. The line between fine art and graphic design is often a thin one, and this led Patrick towards a deeper interest in illustration and commercial design. An extensive period exploring graphics, printmaking and digital design resulted in a number of one-man and group shows. And in 2015 he launched a series of bespoke silk scarves under his own design label Zendrun. In 2020 he launched a bespoke rug range for the Maison Art label. This is a major new collection of striking mural wallpapers. Featuring his trademark use of processed imagery and reinvented forms, Patrick remains true to his experimental instincts to produce concepts that are both refreshing and innovative.
