Mareike Böhmer: Abstract Art Meets Scandinavian Minimalism
German artist Mareike Böhmer creates stunning designs that blend abstract beauty with the calm simplicity of Scandinavian style. Her passion for minimalism and graphic art shines through in each piece, offering a unique way to transform your space into a serene, stylish haven.
Tell us a little bit about your designs...
In my Happywall shop you can find abstract paintings and nature photographs. The abstract pictures are based on acrylic paintings that are created in my studio, sometimes on paper, sometimes on canvas. I like subtle, pastel colors and minimalist compositions. You can also find these in my photos.
What inspires you?
I get inspiration from many things. I love being in nature, preferably with my camera. I am fascinated by light effects, textures and the impact of certain color combinations. But I also like Scandinavian design and I collect Nordic home magazines. And at least once a year I travel to Denmark or Sweden and come home with lots of inspiration and lots of photos.
Why do you like working with Happywall?
I like the collaboration so much because I can put my art on a large wall for many people. I think that my abstract paintings can have a very special effect in a room when they fill an entire wall. And I am very happy that many people obviously see it that way too.
